From our own, Michael Westmoreland-White:
From the website of the Baptist World Alliance, the umbrella organization which voluntarily coordinates cooperative efforts between Baptist denominations around the globe.
Frank Adams, the General Secretary of the All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF), has died. Adams died on Wednesday, December 27 in Kumasi, Ghana, after several months of chronic illness.
Adams, who also served as Baptist World Alliance Regional Secretary for Africa, was previously General Secretary for the Baptist Convention of Ghana.
BWA General Secretary Denton Lotz describes the Ghanaian as a “Faithful follower of Jesus Christ.” In expressing condolences at the African leader’s passing, Lotz says, “Frank was a dear friend of our BWA staff and other regional secretaries. His strong and quiet determination to encourage Africans to evangelize and speak for social justice made him a prophetic voice among African Baptists.”Adams was a graduate of Baptist Theological Seminary in Rüschlikon, Switzerland, and the Oxford Center for Mission Studies in the United Kingdom.
Surviving him are his wife Selina, two sons, and one daughter.
Written condolences by BWA President David Coffey, a minister in the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Ireland, can be found here. Remarks by retiring BWA General Secretary Denton Lotz, a former missionary with the Board of International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches, USA, can be found here.
